Welcome to The Down Syndrome Association of the National Capital Region. We are a non-profit organization committed to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with Down syndrome. Our mission is to provide support, resources, and opportunities that empower individuals and their families at every stage of life. We envision an inclusive community where people with Down syndrome are valued, respected, and given every opportunity to reach their full potential.     Christmas Craft Club

    A new weekly activity for adults 21+ with Down syndrome has been made possible by a Momentum Grant from the CDSS to the DSANCR.

    This event is FREE for adults with Down syndrome!

    When: Wednesday September 9th to Wednesday December 9th 2026

    Time: From 10am to 3pm, weekly

    Where: 363 Lorry Greenberg Drive - Diane Deans Community Centre

    Participants will be taught simple craft projects that can then be sold at a Christmas Craft Fair. They will learn about colours, patterns, cutting, painting, sewing, how to work as a team, and about display/pricing for sales. 

    **Participants must bring their own lunch and drink to each session.**

    Para-Transpo support (getting on and off at location) will be available.

    The program is still looking for a lead hand. The lead hand will help carry boxes of supplies to and from the room, lead chair yoga/exercise during breaks, and help with Christmas Craft Fair set up/take down.     A fun time where families and kids come together to connect and play. Siblings are welcome! The Association provides lunch to all the registered participants. Please take the time to register all participants and indicate whether you'll be eating or not. This helps us better plan for food.

    Location: Ontario Early Years Centre 2330 Don Reid Drive, Suite 101, Ottawa, ON, K1H 1E1

    Please note that English and French speaking families are welcome - we encourage a bilingual atmosphere for our play group sessions.

    All are welcome to join us on Saturday December 5, 2026 for a family Christmas party!

    You need indoor shoes for this event. Wet snowy footwear is not permitted in the hall.

Be the first point of contact for information and support for the Down syndrome community.

To enhance knowledge and understanding of Down syndrome.
